AI Consulting Area · for AI professionals, developers, and consultants

In 2027, your client will have the same agent you do. The difference lies in knowing what to do with it.

When everyone can build, building becomes a commodity. What the client can’t figure out on their own is knowing what to do: which process to tackle first, what’s worth automating, where the risks are, and whether the work actually works. Here are the four roles of an AI consultant, the method for diagnosing before building, the courses INEMA offers to sell and deliver consulting, the kits to use with clients, and the videos on the subject.

Everything is open and free. Courses and guides in PT, EN, and ES where indicated.

01 · Why now

If your pitch is “I’ll build your agent,” you’re bidding against the price of a subscription.

Briefing, connecting the API, building the workflow, refining the prompt, delivering: the agent already handles much of this, and does it better with every new generation of models. The work isn’t going away, but it is shifting.

Building

Has become a commodity

When your client has access to the same agent you do, selling automation alone becomes a price competition.

Deciding

What the client can’t figure out on their own

Which process to tackle first, what is and isn’t worth automating, where the risks are, and whether the results are real. That’s where the work lies in 2027.

Technical expertise

Shifts in value; it doesn’t lose value

It used to be the product. Now it gives you credibility to diagnose, guide, and audit. You don’t have to be the best builder; you need to understand enough of the technology to make good decisions and explain them well.

Stop selling builds. Start selling clarity, ongoing support, teaching, and trust.

02 · The Four Roles

Consultant, ongoing support provider, mentor, and auditor.

Four ways to earn money with AI that don’t depend on building faster than your client’s agent.

1 · Consultant

Start with the process, not the tool

Step in and map what comes in, who decides, who does the work, and where the waste is. Deliver a diagnosis and a plan: this stays with a person, this goes to an agent, this remains traditional automation, and this should stop existing.

2 · Ongoing support provider

The project doesn’t end at delivery

The model changes, the agent changes, the process changes. When you support the client month after month, adjust the context, review the rules, and measure the results, you become a partner—and partners get recurring contracts.

3 · Mentor

Teach the team to work with agents

The client will want to use agents themselves. The mentor teaches managers and teams to provide context, delegate, set limits, and evaluate. Instead of doing it for them, you help them get good at it.

4 · Auditor

Someone needs to review the agents

What can this agent do? Does it have too much autonomy? Does it use data it shouldn’t? Who approved the decision? Are the results good, or do they just look good? Auditing means reviewing the process, risks, and results.

03 · The Method

Find the real constraint and prescribe the simplest solution that works.

The consultant’s job hasn’t changed: AI is the toolbox, not the job description. That’s why diagnosis comes before any technology choice.

The Solutions Pyramid

Foundation

Deterministic workflow

No AI: low-cost, fast, and reliable. Always start here when the problem allows it.

Middle

AI-powered workflow

More power, higher cost, and more points of failure. Move up when the foundation doesn’t solve the problem.

Top

AI agent

Maximum capability and risk, with the longest delivery time. Only when the problem truly requires it.

The roadmap for a consulting engagement

Map the constraint→Audit readiness, data, and risk→Execution plan→Delivery→Monitor and measure
Get started this week. Choose a client or your own company. Pick a process and diagnose it before building anything: what goes in, who decides, where the bottleneck is, and what goes to the person, the agent, and the automation. Write it all down on one page. That document is already a consulting product.

04 · Courses

INEMA courses to help you position, sell, and deliver AI consulting.

Suggested order: understand the role, learn to sell without promising what you can’t deliver, then deepen your delivery and governance skills. Courses marked PT · EN · ES are available in all three versions.

05 · Kits to use with clients

Open projects that become consulting deliverables.

Each one handles a part of the work: finding a client, diagnosing, proposing, delivering, or measuring. Open the guide, try it in your own business first, and only then take it to a client.
